Academy Open Day For Prospective Teachers A Success
An Academy Open Day organised by the Outwood Institute of Education (OIE) has been praised by attendees.
The OIE academy open day programmes allow those who are interested in training to become a teacher to gain an insight into what life inside a school as a teacher is like. The days offer a mixture of advice on applications, classroom observation and sample training sessions.
The academy open day took place at Outwood Academy Adwick, one of the OIE’s National Teaching Schools.
Emma Tate, Associate Director at the OIE, said: “Our academy open days are a great opportunity for those interested in training to teach to get a real insight into what it’s like to be a teacher, as well as receiving advice and tips on the application and interview process.”
“We welcome anyone interested in teaching to the open days and we close each open day with a question and answer session to ensure everyone has the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about teaching, or the application process.”
At Outwood Academy Adwick, the open day attendees were shown around the academy by sixth form students and whilst on the tour, they were able to meet the founder and chairman of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, Sir Michael Wilkins.
Emma added: “I think the memorable speech from Sir Michael Wilkins gave many of the attendees a real motivational lift.”
The next academy open day is planned to take place at Outwood Academy Acklam, on Wednesday, 19th June. For more information and to register, please click on the button below:
